Lana is grieving the loss of her mother, but feels happier in her hometown, before Lana was forced to move to the city with her father. And the village is rebuilding after a disaster has struck. But Lana is more than happy to help. But when she goes to the water, she finds a little seahorse-like friend, who is in need of her help!We also get to see Auntie Mae’s journey below the water, where the Aquicorns live! And Aunt Mae and their leader, Aure, strike up the most heart-warming f/f relationship. But we also get to see firsthand how important it is to keep our waters clean and that we need to respect coral reefs and underwater ecosystems.Every book I’ve read by Katie has also has such an important and powerful message. Aquicorn Cove is about conservation and how the actions we take on land are impacting our waters. How overfishing, climate change, and polluting is hurting these water sources, and if we don’t change our actions then the results are going to be more and more severe. This is a book that really focuses on the delicate balance we have with all living things, and how we have to respect and protect each other to keep the cycle going. Some of these panels were able to evoke such an emotional response from me. I shed so many tears, but also grinned so many smiles. Beautiful and breathtaking illustrations, empowering and important messages, and characters that I wish I had growing up. I hope you all pick this up and fall in love, too!

Katie O'Neill always manages to create cute, meaningful stories that anyone can enjoy. I hope this book can get children, or really anyone in general, thinking more about how to help their environment.

Her art has only gotten better and its set around a favorite setting of mine - the ocean! Her stories are so charming and she hasn't made a character I didn't like.

I was a huge fan of Katie O' Neill especially after picking up her published comic book "Tea Dragon Society". If you have either:read her webcomics online, have a huge appreciation for adorable fairytale-like creatures and characters, or/and love the ocean, then this comic book is right for you!

Extremely heavy handed and poorly paced plot wise. My niece (9) was really disappointed in its lack of entertainment.In the process of returning it.

It gives you the point, a relevant example, caveats, and then lets you think for yourself on the merits of it. Perfect.Some of the stand-out topics for me, paraphrased:* Salary negotiations are a load of BS* Meetings, especially large ones, are an ineffective waste of time. Doubly-so if they have no agenda.* Unregulated open office plans are terrible. They invite distraction and hamper productivity.* "When someone takes your time, it doesn't cost them anything, but it costs you everything"* Keeping up with group chat, emails, other notifications, is a terrible way to spend your day and time* "Where you live has nothing to do with the quality of your work, and it's the quality of your work that we're paying you for"* Projects with inflexible scope and deadlines are a recipe for stress, dread, and missed expectations.* Perks designed to keep you at the office are evil. Better find a company that encourages you to have a life outside of work.All in all, great book. I'll be buying it as gifts for some office-bound friends and family.

I've got mixed feelings on this one.After reading remote and rework, this one feels kinda "cheap", in the sense that is a 18$ book (pre-order, now is 25$) that you read in a couple of days.Don't get me wrong, I like the content, but, maybe I've just been following DHH and his "teachings" for so long that it didn't really teach me anything.I'll share it with a few coworkers and managers to see they're feedback.Also one thing I noticed, especially since I always read on my kindle, the book feels cheap (a lot of white space and different color and font type on different pages) on the inside, although the outside is nice and classy once you remove the outside cover.

This is a really great book with wonderful illustrations, photos and more important an exhaustive amount of details surrounding the world of James Bond. What you get is tons of information covering all the James Bond movies (except for 1967's Casino Royale) from Dr. No in 1962 all the way up to The World is Not Enough in 1999. So that means the book is not complete. A newer edition was made to pick up those three latest movies, however that doesn't kill the value of this edition. This book was a gold mine.DK publishing has published a lot of fantastic movie books. Many of these were called visual dictionaries because they have lots of interesting photos and illustrations as well as a small wealth of information. This book is no different. What you are getting is essentially a visual dictionary that covers an astounding 19 movies with an impressive amount of information. Each movie is listed like a Bond "mission", and each mission touches on a large amount of details like villains, lairs and locales, the love interests, and of course all the tools of the trade Bond is famous for.If wanted to know what's inside Bond's Astin Martin now you get a chance to see it along with all the other notable Bond cars from the movies. A revised version of this book was published to cover what was missed. This book showcases stuff from Die Another Day like the Aston Martin V12 with a laundry list of its features (plus a smaller entry on the villain Jaguar car), a blurb on the Ice Palace and Project Icarus, and almost a full page for Halle Berry. The final two films are far less about the tech and focus on pretty much being a plot synopsis with some great photos. So all in all if you have this book aren't missing terribly too much.This is a great book, but the updated edition kind of puts it out to pasture. If you already have the book then I guess it's a toss up. If you don't have any of the books and want to get the most out of your reading I would go ahead and shy away from this edition. However if you don't mind missing the extra stuff the new book has then you can grab this book at a great price.

I've been a Bond fan since my Dad used to take me to the public library so I could take out the hardback versions of Fleming's master spy. I honestly like this book, although it IS for a younger audience. The cutaway views of the "Bondmobiles" and "Little Nellie" are well rendered and make for a detailed insight behind the sheetmetal. I would have liked to have seen a newer edition, featuring Brosnan's last film as 007...DIE ANOTHER DAY. I think the VANQUISH and the Jaguar would have only added to the fun aspect of this book. It's definitely NOT a wordy book, but does offer the missions (films) in a nice concise chronological order, complete with places in these movies of note such as Dr. No's island base, Blofeld's oil rig, Stromberg's "Atlantis", etc. All in all, a nice addition for ANY Bondian library...or even a good starter book for the "next generation" of 007 fans! ((that's SHAKEN...not stirred))

Its a good coffee table book for sure but for the die hard Bond fan, they would notice some inaccuracies. There is also the fact that only Pierce Brosnan is pictured throughout with nothing for the other actors. The book does cover the many faces of Blofeld but with Bond, you're stuck with Remmington Steele.

In a word, wow.When this showed up today, I was so dazzled by the beautiful photography, brilliant cutaway illustrations and classic DK "callout" design that it took me a few minutes to figure out what was really going on here.What's going on is simply this: this Bond book is the first of its kind. It exists purely within the fantasy universe created by the films. That is to say, that although it is crammed with pictures of actors, actresses, sets, models and props, none is described as such. Instead, each film is really a "case," actors are villains, actresses Bond's women, props are real weapons, sets are lairs. Picture a (DK) "Eyewitness Travel Guide" to Bond's (real) world and you get the idea. The hundreds of new and newly imagined technical illustrations are such a treat: you picture the film people talking to the book people, and all of them pondering, how WOULD this missile-launching ghetto blaster work?Although there are many pictures of Sean Connery (and the four other Bonds), his name does not appear ANYWHERE until a brief "movie index" ten pages from the end. This to me is a good thing. Those of us who watch the Bonds do so to live briefly in his slightly surreal universe. "Secret World" lets you do so in more depth and with greater understanding than ever before.Of particular value are these two brilliant features:1) Travel/fight scene breakdowns. To me, those dustups on speeding trains and flying blimps all happen in a blur. Who's he punching? What does that buy him? Here, in numbered steps, you can follow the hurtling vehicle's progress and how James stands at each turn.2) Evil lair cutaways. These help to bridge the huge gaps between those three Bond staples: exotic locales, imaginative model work and sprawling interior sets. In the films, we see these as: Bad process shot of motorboat speeding towards futuristic evil lair (model + location). Cut to wide shot of boat docking at interior dock (obviously a set). These cutaways show you the "real" relation and mitigate the fakeness.Frankly an incredible book. A must for the Bond person on your list. With this as your "official" guide and the wonderful "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" as your unofficial, you're good to go.

Out of all the Bond reference books that I have purchased I would have to say that this one was the most disappointing. All of the content from this book could be found in the Bond Encyclopedia which is just about the same price on Amazon but it is a lot better (more additional content).I definitely would buy another book if you are only looking to purchase a small number of James Bond reference texts but if you are like me and buy anything Bond related then this is something that you can add to your library if the price is right.
