After reading this summary, I really want to read the original book. I was very touched by all four stories of poor families. This is America’s big problem — inequality, and many poor people suffer only because they don’t have the money to pay for rented accommodation. We all need to think that some children may also be in danger. This small book made me think about the many nuances of life in our country.

This small book is very informative.This provides a lot of valuable information.Through read this book i get knowledge about the nature of a human being. This was an interesting read, but if you are looking to implement this in your life be cautious. I read the original version years ago. I actually use this book in my law practice. Informative!!! This book is about eviction and the side-effects that eviction can have on a person or community. Eviction, which involves poverty and the loss of everything that a person once knew, has an enormous emotional impact on a person. The author did excellent work. It describes it perfectly.

The author explains most things very clearly. I sometimes wish things were organized a little differently or introduced more explicitly for the sake of clarity. Also, there are some errors that can make things confusing. (Like an answer that doesn't match the question asked, or an incorrect formula here and there [The formula for carbonate on p 147 is incorrect.]) Mostly a helpful book, though, especially if used alongside actual class coursework.

Oh my goodness, if your desire is to pass your college chemistry class this book is a MUST! After leaving chemistry class I was a lost soul, I actually considered changing my major so that I didn't have to take this class. People, this book is GOLD, and you know the value of gold! I failed my fist quiz and it's because I didn't have this book yet, since then we've had 5 tests and my lowest grade is a "B" I'm extremely pleased! Thank you Mr. Curran, I certainly wasn't a fan of ANY science, but I now love chemistry, I would buy any book with your name on it, book is truly "God Sent"

Got this to aid homeschool studies in chemistry for 8th grader but it was setting on the shelf until he took a chemistry class at a local Think Tank and they were using the book.You will need to supplement content with addition resources if student doesn't easily "get" chemistry. Even if they do, they will still need supplemental resources.Clean pages (not busy and distracting). Good testing (lesson and chapter) included in the book which is why it gets a 5 from me.

Son had Chem 1 in college last year. He did well but wasn’t very confident. He was concerned he would forget stuff over the summer before taking Chem 2 this year. He worked through this book over the summer and it totally built his confidence. He now says Chem 2 is easy and he just excitedly texted me his first exam score. It was great!

This book is much like the Homework Helpers Physics -- great for beginners and in conjunction with real textbooks, but not as a standalone. Both are just too short and miss some vital topics, and don't go into enough depth on some. Very good buy, though, if used correctly or just learning the basics for the sake of learning.

This book is SUPERB on the topics it does contain. It studies mechanics, electricity, magnetism, thermodynamics and heat, and nuclear/atomic physics. All of these topics are written well and explained clearly; like I said, it's very good on the topics it DOES contain. The only problem I've found with this book is that it doesn't include anything on Relativity or Quantum Mechanics. Yes, it does go in depth about light, photons, and the wave-particle duality of light. Very helpful overall in the basics, but it doesn't go into the really advanced topics. I can't tell if this was meant for College Physics or high-school physics........either way, the explanations were great and it is, really, a great book. If you're taking physics on any level, get this book.

This provides a concise and clear explanation of chemistry concepts to students (and concerned parents). I recommend it to parents at my parent-teacher conferences because kids learn at different paces and have short attention spans in class. If they don't understand it the first time in class or are confused with the background section on take-home worksheets, this book is there to help. And of course, sometimes seeing something explained in a different way is all it takes for the light bulb to go on.

I like the Homework Helpers series (have the Chemistry). Clean pages (meaning not so busy one doesn't know where to direct one's eye to understand the material) with chapter testing.If something is not understood, there is a plethora of online resources to supplement.

As a psychological trainee in a clinical program, this has been a godsend. This is what I needed to explain the different scales, the validity scales especially. This is my go to now anytime I need to assess a PAI. It is very useful for clients that are a bit more challenging either in interpreting or trying to get a better idea of how scales interact.

I love this series. They're very helpful for assessments. Required reading for graduate courses and I'm so glad they were because they're a great companion.

A must have for psychological testing!

Just like the other books in the Essentials series, this book is great for quickly learning how to administer, score, and interpret this assessment.

The book is full of generally useful information. The validity and reliability information can be found in the test manual so is not really useful here. The chapters on scoring and interpretation are concise, well written and make it easier to come up with a comprehensive picture of the client. It is well worth the investment of both money and time.

I own every Corto Maltese book that has thus far been released by IDW and I wouldn’t have bought them all if I wasn’t enjoying the series but I confess that this is my least favorite book in the series. Occasionally in the series, Hugo Pratt gets a bit out there with his writing and it’s hard to tell what is fantasy and what is reality. Corto will be in sort of a dreamlike space or might interact with mythical or imaginary beings. I feel like these sequences are incongruous with the character although, obviously, Pratt is the creator so it’s his right to create stories as he pleases. I’m just not as much of a fan of these stories and the problem is that The Secret Rose is almost entirely a dream.The story is only 69 pages long so IDW used some very heavy paper stock to thicken the book up. It may not be a long story but there is a whole lot of dialogue. What there isn’t is any hint of action. It’s a fairy tale with a mixture of King Arthur’s court and characters from the bible with sort of an overlap with the holy grail. I just could not get into the story this time around. It’s not terrible, it’s not even bad. It just wasn’t for me. Others may feel differently.

Pratt is experimenting here and it may be the prequel to the final volume MU- the art feels different . I liked the book but it had less impact on me that other books in the series - this is not the one to start reading Corto Maltese - start with the earlier volumes and move up to this one.

This is a great technical writing book for both new and mid-career tech writers. The information is well-organized in such a way that it can be used as a great reference book. There are many helpful diagrams and checklists in the book, and I have appreciated them immensely.

I am a neophyte technical writer, but experienced in grammar and composition. Having only read the first few chapters, I have already learned several theoretical and practical points that I have been able to apply. This is my first book on the subject, so I can't say it's the best, but I can highly recommend it. I would buy this book again.
