I really enjoyed the Forever Life book. I read it in one day. The humor between Jon and Al was sharp, witty and made the book more enjoyable for me. The only objection was being put off by some foul language that did not add anything to the plot. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. Short fast read.

A violent collision occurs on Jupiter, radically affecting its orbit. In about one hundred years, it will destroy Earth; a new home for humans must be found. Since we're talking light years to possible new planets, taking many years to explore, human astronauts are not a good choice. Jon Ryan has his being transferred into an android who looks and thinks exactly like him, does not need provisions, and can remain "alive" for hundreds of years or more.I enjoyed reading this book. It has interesting adventures, a sassy A.I. ship controller, lots of humor, and a couple of aliens who become part of the crew. It's exciting enough to encourage you to move on to the next book in the series.

The main character development was better than most space operas. The science in orbital disruption is plausible and no Faster Than Light travel - yet. Good science but time travel slips in. Not a fan of time travel paradox to help a plot. I just have not been able to get my brain around traveling backwards (as we perceive it) in time.Forward time travel due to traveling a large percentage of the speed of light, yes. In reverse direction just does not seem plausible.

The very concept of downloading a human consciousness into an exact duplicate android is intriguing enough, but that’s only the beginning.One thing I particularly liked was the fast pace. Ten years pass in a sentence so what happens is left to the reader’s imagination and moves to the next real adventure. No long tedious explanations of stuff way above my pay grade!And it’s funny! The exchanges between Jon and Al the ship’s AI are priceless and only get better when two more sentient beings are added to the mix.One more thing: Did the author get a big boost from “Gulliver’s Travels?” Some of the planetary visits seemed awfully familiar. Good show!Can’t wait to read the next book.

In an effort to find habitable worlds, androids piloting starships are sent out looking for potential new homes. This first book revolves around the exploits of Col. Jon Ryan as he sets off on his eighty year journey of exploration. Interesting and likable characters coupled with a well written story line makes this well worth your time to read.

Good news you have found a series that feels like a future not too far off but where humans look forward to how to best save themselves over the long, long, long run. If you were given the chance to help usher the human race forward into better times, could you say no? Jon says yes, and it is so worth taking this ride with him. Best news, there are many many books in multiple series of Jon saving the universe piece by piece available, come along.

This is a sci fi pulp novel that reads like Flash Gordon. Put any thoughts of science fact aside and enjoy the ride.

Loved the book and it's characters. The idea of an android 's adventures trying to find a new home for humanity is one that I seldom see.Enjoyed the characters developed in the book, especially the doughnut people.As soon as I finished this book I immediately download the next in the series.Keep up the good work.

This book is organized in a way that I do not think is logical, other wise if you are going to replace the engine this book would be a good choice.

Beware of the spark plug wiring sequence for the 3.5L. You would think the authors of this manual would be smart enough to do this correctly? Makes me question the validity of the rest of the book.I hope your town has a good recycling program.

I purchased this book to assist my do-it-yourself repairs on my '94 Montero. With the exception of the wiring diagrams which are good, I find this book is poorly organized and lacks critical location information for many of the parts for my truck. There are exploded view drawings that attempt this, but in reality most books aren't going to display this well without a huge expense. This is the first Chilton's manual I've ever purchased, my choice has either been Haynes or the manufacturers shop manuals in the past. Since the book comes sealed (apparently for good reason), I had no way of knowing how poor it was. There is little or no troubleshooting tree, and when provided it is very basic. It would appear that they gathered information for as many years of Mitsu trucks (including Monteros) as possible and put it in this book. I was trying to fix two items on the truck, my seatbelt light stayed on, and coolant was leaking from engine. In this book found no separate subsection on the engine cooling system, it is instead included in pieces in the engine rebuilding section. The book also failed to help me indentify the location or component that was causing the seatbelt light to stay on. I finally called a Mitsubishi mechanic to find it.

Based on review of Table of Contents and flipping through several chapters. Although we just received the book last week, and the kids haven't had a chance to use it, the study guide seems to be very comprehensive, with in-depth explanations of strategies and plenty of examples. It should be great for someone who hasn't had any exposure to the PSAT.

I especially like the tips and feedback for the top test taking tips. It is very helpful for my son.

This book is very outdated some of the questions are way wrong

I have a special needs child, and testing is not a strength for her. But she usually earns mostly As, and is in TAG Chinese. The DVD and flashcards are great for her! She studies the flashcards on the bus to/from school. The book is a lot to comprehend for her in test taking tips, and because we did not have a lot of time, the flashcards and DVD help bring home critical concepts for those who may not have strong enough language to understand the more general tips on taking the test. Although, I think if we had purchased it earlier and had more time to digest all the information, it would have really been helpful. The book has links to the publisher's web site for video instructions on concepts in the test, which is an incredibly useful tool and another way to process the information: reading the book and watching the video of instruction on the same material. Out of all the books out there, I cannot imagine something being better suited for my family or child - lifestyle (lack of time), way of thinking (how information is processed), and abilities (synthesizing critical information). I regret tremendously not finding these materials sooner. Â

I love that I have a printed book with support material and more context, but my daughter has processing issues so going over all this information can be challenging. That said, I LOVE the video clips you can use to summarize and explain the concept to review. She may not get out of this book what one could, but she will get much more review than I could ever dream of with these little video clips. Great set up.

So this book has helped me review certain subjects that I need help on the PSAT. I am thinking of using this book for the next 3 years of my high school to help me get prepared for both the PSAT and the SAT. The most thing I found helpful is basically everything about including the practice test.

This review was very thorough and my daughter thought it was comprehensive. She liked the practice test and test taking strategies. She had to take the PSAT to get into a SAT prep course at school, that actually uses this program also.

I have skated for over 20 years, Rodney Mullen is a hero of mine so I was looking for a book that was somewhat indepth and factual. I think this is the best skateboarding book I have read. I thought I knew a lot about Rodney but I this book taught me a few things I didn't know. I'll read this book again someday, too good to read just once.

A great source for understanding Taoism form one of the best authors available.

Really helpful tips

A truly amazing introduction to the daoist teachings of health and longevity for those who don't yet read Classical Chinese.

As advertised

The first section is an excellent guide to living mindfully, the later sections are advanced practices involving metaphors and alchemy.

This book is a handy little reference guide that gives you little jolts of taoist wisdom very succinctly. As usual Eva's books are very nice and readable. Im not done with it at the moment so I will see how it progresses. Seems to go deeper as you read on.

Another great book by Eva Wong. This was short, concise and easy to read. It is a good compliment to her other books. Each of her books includes something new.
