Kaldane's are unquestionably one of the most unusual, unique, creepy, entertaining yet unsettling, beings ever conjured by an inditer in the sci/fi genre...a simply wonderful and amazing creature! Once again the story shifts from Carthoris and Thuvia to the new heroine "Tara, Princess of Helium" and her suitor ""Gahan, Jeddak of Gatholian." I love this series in spite of its predictability and occasional redundancy. A true classic with A movie in the works!

The books are not the same as the Disney produced movie titled "John Carter". They are very similar, but it's clear that Disney took some liberties with the telling of the story within the movie. The first 4-5 stories in the Barsoom series are very engaging, but it's clear that the last two stories were not fully developed, and the last story does not appear to have been finished. If the movie caught your eye and imagination, then take the time to read this series. The writing style is a little convoluted in some sentences, and there are some noticeable grammatical errors, but all things considered this is still a great series to read.

Excellent collection of 7 of the Mars books starts with the first 3 John Carter books: The Princess of Mars, The Gods of Mars, and The Warlord of Mars. Then there is Thuvia, Maid of Mars which follows Carter's son Carthois and Thuvia from the Gods and Warlord novels. Then The Chessmen of Mars, which is the story of Tara, daughter of John Carter and the Jedak of Gathol. Then The Mastermind of Mars, a very different tale about another Earth traveler to Mars, Ulysses Paxton. And lastly what seems to be a excerpt The Yellowmen Of Mars, about John Carter and his granddaughter, Llana of Gathol. To my delight original color illustrations of covers are included with some interior black and white drawings of the action. These are rather small but nevertheless add to the collection. There is a complete book called Llana of Gathol from which I believe that the Yellowmen Of Mars is excerpted. It seems to have been cut out of the story towards the middle to end. Although nice to read, this is the only shortcoming of this otherwise fine collection. For this only I deducted one star.

Let me begin by saying I am not an avid Sci-Fi reader. In fact, I normally don't read this genre. So why did I download THE ADVENTURES of "John Carter on Mars" - THE ORIGINAL FIVE STORIES? I'm not sure. Maybe because I had been reading H. Rider Haggard's "Allan Quatermain" series and saw a similarity between the stories about AQ and JC. Both are chock-full of adventure and nonstop action; take place in exotic locations: Africa and Mars; and both are easy to read while I jog on my treadmill. There are probably other reasons, but maybe they're of a subconscious nature.The storyline of "A Princess of Mars" (The first book in the series.) has already been mentioned, so I won't say too much more about it. Generally, though, it's a story about creatures who are always at war, the green Martians (ugly, very tall and unemotional) vs the red Martians (attractive, human-like and full of emotion).There is a lot of warring going on on the planet Barsoom/Mars with green Martians against red Martians and greens against other greens and reds battling other reds. Who, then, comes between them all and is captured at one time or another by both sides, wins some of their green and red hearts, is betrayed by green and red, imprisoned here and there, and ultimately...? None other than earth man John Carter, ex-captain in the CSA during the American Civil War, and unwitting traveler to this strange world. There is also a love story sandwiched in between the action and adventure segments. John Carter falls in love with the beautiful princess Dejah Thoris (red Martian) who is the reason for all of the above mentioned conflict.If you can really suspend disbelief and remember that this was written in 1911, then you will thoroughly enjoy reading this series. 4 Stars

Overall a 5 star series of books. The writing is tight, without repetition, the characters are interesting & I like them & the situations are unique & not all murders. I appreciate the fact that they don't kill off everyone in the village one by one, the cops aren't always being represented as stupid idiots, the folks solving the mysteries are everyday folks, one with a little experience & our investigators aren't suspected of every crime. It's a refreshing take.

The Cherringham mysteries are a satisfying confection for mystery lovers. Buy the audio books and enjoy the tales even more with narration enthrallingly read by Midsomer Murders actor Neil Dundgeon. A satisfying escape. A-a-ah!

I love the characters in these books and have read all the compilations so now I'm waiting for the next group when he gets back from the US. I certainly hope he will be back for another series.I like the setting of the stories and feel like I know all the village people .everyone seems so real. I can't wait to read more. So come on get the thinking caps on, I'm waiting and not too patiently.

I love these short crime-solving stories set in the Cotswolds. Am currently reading the fourth one and have ordered the fifth. Sarah and Jack are a great team and the supporting characters are well done. Highly recommended to anyone who likes well thought out mysteries with interesting and complex characters.

This whole series is so fun to listen to. I listen to audiobooks all the time and really got caught up in many of the stories. These were just the right length and, after the first chapter, I grew to like the main characters very much! I highly recommend all of the series. I just wish there were more to buy!

I absolutely love this series. I love the characters and the fact that the series is based in one little village really helps you believe the stories. Very well written! I sure hope Sarah and Jack get together as more than friends someday though 😉

First I am not one for diets. Second I was very skeptical about this. I bought my friend a book too. She went to the extreme and did everything she was suppose to and well, I gradually worked in the foods that are beneficial for me and removed the foods that weren't. Within three months my friend went from being in bed all the time, depressed, aching joints, ADD, etc... to being energetic, not ADD, younger looking skin, etc. I mean a completely different person that was obvious to all of us around her. Needless to say I was shocked. Still don't quite understand how food has that kind of impact on the body but the proof was undeniable. So, I and my other friend decided to buckled down and do exactly what the book said to do. I am type O so there were some foods to avoid that were my favorite like Avocado, corn, etc. but for the most part it was easy. I just literally threw everything out of my kitchen that was not type O approved. For me I am a picky eater so wasn't sure how this was going to go. Well, I am still eating type O after four years now. Before I would be in the hospital three to four times a year due to bronchitis, asthma, etc. Always on an antibiotic or steroid, etc. When you walk into an ER and the doctors remember you and know how to treat you off of their memory it is pretty sad. I was also the type of person where if someone was sick and even near me for a minute it was just a matter of time that I was going to be sick too, every single time. Well, in the four years doing type O I have not been sick once. Not even once. I have been around people that were very sick and never once have I been sick. Have not had any antibiotics or steroids. My other friend no longer clears his throat that he did repeatedly for 10 years. One of the key issues was corn for us. Anything with corn...corn starch, etc. in fact, after three months of being on type O strictly if I have something with corn starch my body and my friend's body reacts immediately...head pressure, sinus pressure it is crazy. Not all avoid foods will my body react to dramatically but there are key ones it will and I am like I should not have eaten that. Still don't understand the science behind it. But now several people I know eat this way and every single one of us has changed and improved dramatically. What is even crazier I don't even crave the foods I really liked that are on my avoid list and crave foods now that I thought I would never eat. I love spinach now, before maybe once a year. I love pizza with just a little olive oil, crushed garlic, feta, spinach, no sauce, kalamata olives, maybe some red onions...my favorite...before I loved cheese pizza but not no more. I eat mozzarella cheese over cheddar. Eat feta cheese now. Never ate onions in my life but now do, it is crazy. My body literally craves type O food it is absolutely mind blowing. I mean anyone that tries eating their blood type and does so strictly for at least three months, meaning avoid all avoid foods, eat all beneficial foods, etc. will see a major difference. As I have seen it with my own eyes with several different blood types. It works, can't explain it. I bought the app on my iPhone so when in the grocery store I just quickly look up an item as type O can have mushrooms but some mushrooms are on my avoid list so I just click on the app as I can never remember which one and know immediately what to buy and what not too.

I think someone's opinion on this book is going to be largely based on their health going into the diet. I first found this book in high school and my mom said I was an A blood type so I concentrated on vegetarian foods. I was happy to do this because it was in the 90's and all my teen magazines promoted low fat and vegetarian diets and of course, I wanted to be like the models. I would skip the meat part of the meal and I would never get full. My weight ballooned. I had digestive problems. After about 4 years, I developed a chronic cough that never went away. I went to a lung specialist and he told me I probably had cystic fibrosis and sent me to the hospital to get tested. My sodium test was borderline. He was so sure that I had it, he sent me to another hospital in another town to have the test retaken because he thought the staff was bad at the first place. My test was borderline again. He gave me all sorts of steroids to help with the cough and eventually it went away.Anyway, fast forward years and my health was destroyed. I ended up desperate to fix it so I went to college for dietetics and became a nutritionist. Of course, dietetic school said this was a fad diet so I went on a dietary guidelines plan. I was able to lose a little weight because I had incorporated meat back into my diet.'Fast forward a year out of school, I discovered the paleo diet and my whole world was better. I thrived on the paleo diet, lost weight, and told everyone about it. I was one of the first nutritionists on the web promoting it, but then something happened. Some of my clients did horrible on it. I just assumed they were not doing it right. Then I had my son and my pregnancy with him was a train wreck. I was sick all the time and I couldn't eat anything but turkey (this is a hint at what blood type he was going to be).I tried to eat a paleo diet when I was pregnant with him and he wouldn't let me. When I was breastfeeding, he didn't like the paleo diet either. It was torture. My mom was managing a health food store at the time and she had blood type supplements on her shelf. I grabbed them and took them to my naturalpath doctor to ask her about them. She highly recommended the blood type diet.What I discovered was that I wasn't an A; I was an O and I was doing the diet backwards for years. That's also why I thrived on paleo and my son was an A and he hates meat. Now, as a four year old, he only eats chicken maybe 2 times a month. He loves protein shakes and I don't push meat on him because I know your body will naturally like what it needs. It is insane though because our eating styles are exactly opposite and I am grateful for this book because I know that his needs are different from mine and I shouldn't force him to eat what I like.So, my point to this long review is that some people may not like this book because they might not be experiencing any health issues so they don't see the difference or others might not try it long enough. Also, you can see by my story what eating the wrong diet did to my health and it didn't take long.I love Dr. D Adamo. I use his supplements. I read all of his books. I use his skin care. As a nutritionist, I have studied the science and it's there. This isn't a fad diet.When you have your blood type you have a blue print for your health. It's freedom.One thing that I love about him that I have to add is his ability to speak against what's popular. When I was pregnant, it didn't make sense to me how I could carry a type A baby, if type A blood would kill me. I developed a horrible rash called the pupps rash. I saw 5 OBGYN's and I told them all my theory that I was reacting to the blood of the baby and they all thought I was nuts. After I delivered I still believed the reason I was so sick in pregnancy was because of the blood type difference. Years later I read in one of Dr. D Adamo's books that he supports that theory of the most difficult pregnancies are usually type O mom's with A babies because they are opposite in dietary needs. This book is about Pat Flynn, first and foremost. He shares tidbits here and there, but this book is about his personal journey to a high level of entrepreneurship. And this is a great thing indeed. For the last few years I have been following Pat Flynn and I love what he has to say. He has been the #1 influencer for my own online journey, and I am not the only one. There are literally thousands of people out there that will equate their success to this one man. To say that he knows his stuff is an understatement. Pat is THE expert in online business, entrepreneurship, and podcasting specifically. I personally read his blog posts, listen to every new podcast episode, and even watch the occasional YouTube video that he puts up. His content is timely and actionable. He always encourages listeners to stop and take action, once even telling listeners to stop listening to his podcast if listening was preventing them from starting right away towards their goals. Pat is genuine, and always comes from a place of authenticity and transparency with all of his content. He makes no secret that his primary goal is to serve his audience, and it is obvious that he meets and exceeds this goal daily. He cares about what he puts out there and wants to be of service to people. This is why Pat is my go to resource for all things online business. If he writes it or endorses it, I am all in. That is why, when I received an email from him (not directly guys, I am on his mailing list with about 100k other people haha) to purchase his new book, I did so right away. I then proceeded to finish the entire thing in one sitting. I gobbled up his story and the advice he shares throughout. Pat tells his story of starting out and then succeeding in the online world with delicate grace, which is hard to do. His stories are relatable, funny, and extremely interesting. Even though I have heard these same stories several times throughout the years while listening to his podcast, it was nice to be able to read his full story in one go. I never realized how truly hard he worked to get to a good position in his field, only to have the rug ripped out from under him. I could feel his pain when he walked into his boss' office to get the bad news. What follows after this, the next step that Pat takes, is the only part of the book that makes me raise my eyebrows slightly and go "really??"This is the one and only negative aspect of the book, and about Pat's journey in general. Not everybody finds themselves in his same situation. Yes, he got laid off, but yes he also woke up one day to find literally 5000 people a day visiting his website. Yes he put the work in, but you can't help but feel slightly annoyed while reading thinking "seriously man? Seriously? That was too easy..." Some people struggle for years to get traffic to their site, only to receive a very small percentage of that. Still, Pat's ability to relate to people at all different levels makes the prior complaint a non-issue. He is so down to earth and willing to admit his mistakes, that you can't help but cheer for him. Even if his business now makes millions of dollars, I have no doubt in my mind that if Pat Flynn knew about me and my business, he would care deeply about it. I know that if he could, he would lend a helping hand.His connection with his audience, that he shares about in his book, is his strongest quality and what separates him from others in his field. If you have any doubt that this book will give you a jump start of motivation, lay that to rest. Pat shares that anyone in just about any circumstance can indeed reach their goals if you have the courage to take action. Now, this book won't teach you the exact ways of starting a business.That's not what its for. What it will teach you is that you can rise up despite your circumstances and, if you are willing, to let go of all that is holding you back. I could go on forever shouting this books praises, but I will stop here. If you want a quick, easy read that will lift your spirits and give you the motivation you need to tackle your next goal, this book is perfect.Â

I read the original version back in 2013 and Pat's story was truly inspiring. It almost made me want to be "let go" aka fired myself. But instead of actually trying to get fired, I put the things in place in my life that were necessary to step away from my job and focus on my own online business. Since I'm not a big risk taker, this meant paying off our mortgage, building up savings, and cutting the monthly budget. With a wife no longer working, a 6-month-old, and the plans in place I was able to "Let Go" and quit my job as an engineer n December 31, 2015 and focus completely on my online piano lesson business. "Letting Go" was one of the greatest decisions I've ever made.Now in this new expanded version of the book, Pat not only tells his story, but offers many new tips and anecdotes, such as "don't think like the business owner, think like the CEO", dealing with the "madness", structuring the "machine", the various ways to make money online (and which way is best to start with), etc.Whether you're new to online business or a seasoned veteran, "Let Go" is an awesome resource.

This book is for two kinds of people: those who love Pat Flynn and those who want to be entrepreneurs (or better entrepreneurs than they are now). Usually those two kinds intersect, and 98% of one crowd belongs to the other.Why is that so? Because of Pat Flynn. Read the beginning of his author bio: “… is a beloved thought leader…” I read a lot of exaggerated bios on Amazon, but this one beats them all. “Beloved, pshaw!” — you may think with cynicism.But it is true. I’ve been following the guy for about four years, and it’s impossible not to love him. I was eager to get to know about his journey and consumed the expanded edition of “Let Go” in two sittings.Let’s look at the book's CONS:1. Close to zero technical information.If you expected ins and outs of online business, you may be disappointed. Pat says very little about the specific methods and tools.But you shouldn’t expect technical info in an autobiography, and this book is exactly that. It only happens to be the biography of an entrepreneur. It’s about Pat’s life & business, not about business, business & business.2. It’s intimidating.I made a big mistake and dove straight into Part II of the book, because I read Part I when the first edition was published. Pat is trying very hard to make his audience relate to him, but for me at least, it was impossible. He lost me completely when he told a story about this new puny kid in the town that was starting a podcast, you know, John Lee Dumas and Entrepreneur on Fire.Pat throws big names like that all the time. He already lives in another dimension, at the top of the top of modern entrepreneurship. How the heck could I relate to him? *sigh*Maybe if you read the book from the very beginning, and read his story from when he was still an employee, it will alleviate this “awestruck” a bit.PROS:1. Close to zero technical information.I consider this an advantage. Expecting technical details from “Let Go” is a big misunderstanding. Pat doesn’t dilute the message of his book with technical stuff.This is a book about becoming a great entrepreneur, not about how to use Aweber to collect email addresses. This guy has over 1,000 podcast episodes where he shared technical details. He has hundreds of blog posts on his blog. If you need technical information, go there!2. The Author.I said Pat intimidated me. Well, that’s true. In the first month of his business, he generated $8,000 of revenue. Heck, I’ve been hustling online for more than four years and didn’t generate such a monthly revenue even once.But if any guru should ever teach me about principles of entrepreneurship, let it be Pat. Because he is awesomely kind, compassionate, and understanding in his teaching.Pat is a lot like Jim Rohn. I’ve never met a single person who said “Oh, I hate Jim Rohn, he was just a charlatan and exploited the naive crowd.” The worst opinion about Jim I’ve ever heard was “Oh, his message didn’t speak to me.”In the same fashion, no one ever accused Pat of being a jerk, a sleazy salesman or a guru too big to notice that he stomps on people (you can insert here names of your un-favorite business or personal development guru to the above descriptions). ;) Well, no one but a troll who used such accusations to drive traffic to his site. Don’t you know this story? Read “Let Go,” it’s there. ;)Pat, like Jim, walks the talk. He is absolutely transparent and authentic. He feels like a human being, not a success story created for media.For years, I was a guy who said “Oh, Pat’s message doesn’t speak to me.” While I admired Pat’s integrity and liked most of his stuff that wasn’t directly related to online business - productivity, tactics to get and stay healthy, creating and maintaining relationships - I never appreciated his business stuff very much. I used a tiny bit here and there on my blog or with my email management system, but it all didn’t make much difference for me.The expanded edition of “Let Go” was for me.3. Relating to Pat.As much as the author seems to be out of my league, I found myself several times nodding in agreement when Pat described his struggles or mistakes.A comparison trap is a biggie. I struggled with that a lot about two years ago.Impatience and frustration? Checked.Feeling unappreciated for my all hard work? Checked. Michal’s story was a good reminder as well. I too was contacted in such a fashion by my readers, and this feeling that I made a positive difference in their lives was uber-rewarding.Taking too much on my shoulders? Oh, yes. In fact, in September 2016, I cut off all unessential items and put all new projects on hold in order to stay sane.So despite feeling like a dwarf next to Pat, I still got many times the feeling: “Yep, it was exactly the same in my case.”What is more, sometimes I could relate even to Pat’s successes. Tracking? I’m a fanatic of it. Networking? I’m doing my best. I give 100%.4. Values and Principles.This is the core of this book, and it’s amazing. His audience is counted in millions, yet he still manages to have a short conversation on Skype with random followers, still replies to Tweets, comments and emails in person (not all of them, of course), and recently he sent a personalized video to each of a few hundred people who purchased his latest course.There are a lot more nuggets of business wisdom in the book. I just instanced a few off the top of my head.5. Authenticity.Pat isn’t afraid to be vulnerable. He really tries as mightily as possible to be fully transparent while keeping some needed privacy. He shares the moments with his family and lessons he gives his kids. And he doesn’t hide his fails.One good example (not from the book, but Pat is always like that): In SPI episode 273 Pat shared his first ever audio file posted on the Internet. Wow, it made me chuckle. I could do better than that with my thick-accented English! In the same episode, Pat shares Michal’s story, and you can hear how his voice trembles with emotion.Authenticity is Pat Flynn’s trademark. “Let Go” is no exception.6. The End.The last lesson Pat gives in “Let Go” is the one about fear and failure. It really impacted me. I heard this message many times before, including the Will Smith’s video from YT that Pat quotes in the book. However, hearing it from Pat finally made a difference for me.Fear of failure is the main obstacle on the road to entrepreneurship, because this road is filled with failures. Pat urges his readers to make a mind shift and see failures as an inevitable part of the process, because it is that.A few weeks ago, I read a book Internet Business Insights: Lessons Learned and Strategies Used by 101 Successful Internet-Based Entrepreneurs (Internet Business Books) with interviews of 101 successful entrepreneurs and most of them refused to acknowledge failures. Failure for most of them was a learning experience that led to success.Once you get this, you will be able to break through your fear. The fear will not be gone, as Pat explains, but you will finally be able to take action.I judge nonfiction books mainly by one criterion: if I took action based on the content. Right in the middle of reading “Let Go,” I stopped and did something I procrastinated with out of fear for a long time. I called my friend who is a graphic designer and asked him to design a business card for me. I will need them during the live event I’ll attend in three weeks.Summary:“Let Go” is a great book that really can help you transform from employee mindset into entrepreneur mindset. I’m very excited about Pat’s next project, The Let Go Experience. This is really something I see a great demand for. Technical knowledge is easy to find and implement. But this subtle mindset shift that can really help you utilize all the tools out there and make you an entrepreneur is so elusive!“Let Go” helped me to follow this path.I finish this review with my favorite quote from the book:“In order to grow, you have to let go.”

About the Author

Phillip Curtis McKee, III, took up stained glass to relax himself from the stressful work of a Firefighter/EMT with the Arlington County Fire Department, VA. His skill grew rapidly until he had won two nation-wide competitions. His work was featured in newspaper articles, on TV, and even on the cover of a national publication. But as with everyone in America, the events of 9-11 changed his life forever. Phillip was among the first to respond to the Pentagon and worked for three straight days at the crash site. During the rescue work, he sustained serious injuries in the line of duty, was placed on disability and subsequently retired. After 9-11 stained glass provided him with a way to bring beauty back into a world stained with hatred. Dissatisfied with the quality of beginner’s stained glass books on the market, and determined to bring the joy of stained glass into the lives of others, Phillip wrote this book. Today he creates stained glass art, writes, and manages web sites despite now having to walk with the aide of a cane. Phillip taught Glass Arts at the Art Studios at Fairlington located in Arlington, VA, and operates a full service studio in Fairfax, VA, where he lives with his spouse Officer Nopadon McKee, MTPD, and their dog, Cloe. He is always happy to answer student questions via e-mail at inquiries@mckeestainedglass.com or on his website. Phillip did his undergraduate studies at Yale University and his graduate studies at Harvard University. He also held a research fellowship at Princeton University. Shipping was as expected. Quality is good. I had read another book by Dr. Purser, his book 85% Solution, and I love it. So I bought this book also to learn more on thyroid issues. I love his style of getting right to the point and telling you how it really is, bad or good. Some things are easy to understand for the average educated person, but I did need to help explain a few things when my mother read it who has no medical type education. But to me, it's worth it for better understanding to help those with thyroid issues.

Dr Purser never ceases to amaze me with his straight forward approach to our bodies and health! He clearly walks us through his conclusions to our most common, and troubling symptoms. He details why some Dr’s follow a protocol that’s not working because that’s the formula they’ve learned. Dr Purser looks beyond, to treat the patients complaints.Again, he takes our concerns and optimizes a remedy.Love him

This is a subject, and specific individuals, that have not been given the attention they deserve. I was hoping this book would paint a picture of the true challenges they faced and the things they accomplished in the face of determined public opposition and outright sabotage, in some instances. I was first surprised that the author would use the same title as a much better book "Fly Girls" about the WASPs of World War II. Things got worse when I started reading the book. For a technical subject such as aviation, one would have thought that the author would have had someone with technical knowledge do at least a quick bit of proofreading. Somehow airplanes became "airships." Huh? Airships are dirigibles or blimps. The repeat of that error became painful. Single-engine airplanes were described as having throttles, plural, while multi-engine airplane had a throttle, singular. Technical details regarding aircraft and what goes on in flight were repeatedly wrong - yet the author stressed the importance of the fact that each of those incredible pilots spent an exhaustive amount of time assuring that they didn't miss any technical details when flying. If only the author had done the same.While it moved the story along, a fair amount of the details about the pilots' lives read a bit like a costume drama.Much is made of Louise Thaden's husband developing an all-metal airplane, as if he were somehow cutting edge. He wasn't even close - the Germans were making all-metal transports in World War I and Henry Ford's captive company, Stout, was making them by the mid-1920s.The author repeated the mistaken claim that Richard Byrd was the first to fly over the north pole. That claim was debunked years ago and shouldn't have been in a well-researched book.It might have helped to describe some of the airplanes flown by the women more carefully as some of them were simply awful, requiring a huge amount of skill to fly, and land, safely. Most of the airplanes designed in the 1920s and early 1930s had marginal or worse stability in various axes, lousy control harmony and systems (fuel, electrical, hydraulic) that could be confusing, counter-intuitive and just plain dangerous to a pilot who did not fully understand the details. Such details alone would help to describe just how great the pilots who flew those airplanes great distances (in often hideous weather when weather forecasting was essentially nonexistent) truly were.For someone unfamiliar with the incredible women portrayed in this book, it's a good place to start to learn about them. I'm hoping someone will eventually do a definitive book on those great women. I'm just disappointed I spent the money on this one.

Really, REALLY enjoyed the book. Over the years, I've come to learn snippets of each, but this book has everything in one place. Each of their stories are fascinating but in this book, Mr. O'Brien has spent the time to chronicle much more of the details of the girls that helped to bring aviation into everyone's life. Their stories seem complete .... the accomplishments, the setbacks and in a few cases, the despair each endured in their individual struggle to be recognized as a credible contributor. I'm certain you will enjoy this book if aviation is of interest.

An amazing, heart-pounding, page-turning, tear-jerking true story. Keith O’Brien’s extensive research and wonderful writing has brought these forgotten women (and men) back to life. Many of us know a bit about Amelia Earhart, but can we name any other pioneering aviators (man or woman) from this age? Get to know the incredible women who fought to fly and to gain respect - you won’t be able to put this down and you will miss them when you finish the book!

And 5 stars beyond those! This book is a well researched and indexed history of a forgotten battle for women’s rights. Not only a great read, I found it hard to put down. So glad I decided to read it.

Read for book club. Was recommended by Parade Magazine. This book was written in reporter writing style meaning all overall details were given even if the details did not add to the story; therefore although this is a short book, under 200 pages, it was a hard read. When this book was reviewed by our book club, the majority of our members agreed. I would not recommend this book.

A classic cover the pretty ones and ignore everyone else treatment of an important piece of history. Pancho Barnes gets one sentence in this book. Other important female aviators of the day are similarly ignored of given no treatment in this lazy book. There are better books about this event.

This book was very enjoyable and so well researched. I never knew there were so many women who were willing to attempt the things that these pilots dared to do! Very courageous and completely in love with flying.

This book🙏🏻👏🏻❤️ Such a fascinating read of a story so needing to be told! These women were true pioneers and O’Brien does a masterful job of bringing them to life and securing their place in history. An absolute must read.
